MAHC Membership Meeting
March 1, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 10:45 am
This meeting will be held in Rooms 214/215 of the Abromson Center. Directions and parking information can be found here: https://usm.maine.edu/conferences/directions-parking-abromson-center.
Our agenda will include an update on efforts to get the senior affordable housing bond and new lead poisoning prevention law implemented, as well as a discussion of the $3 million in National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF) dollars expected to flow to Maine for the first time later this year. We will be joined by two national NHTF experts, Ed Gramlich of the National Low Income Housing Coalition and Ann O’Hara of the Technical Assistance Collaborative, who will walk us through how those funds can be spent, what has to be done before the money can flow, and what we might want to consider as best practices to get as much benefit for low income Mainers as possible. Finally, we will provide information about the $80 million which recently became available through the Capital Magnet Fund at the U.S. Treasury, to finance affordable housing and economic development activities through nationally competitive grants.
