John provides expert guidance throughout New England to help communities overcome barriers to create affordable housing and other projects that support health and wellbeing. His work builds capacity among municipalities, emerging developers, and diverse community groups to plan projects and gain access to resources. John engages in advocacy with policymakers at the state and federal level on how to expand the development and preservation of affordable housing, particularly in rural areas. Prior to Genesis, John's 30-plus years of community development experience include 20 years at CEI, Inc. as a housing developer and lender and as chief investment officer. At MaineHousing, he was the manager of multifamily programs.
