Maine Voters Have Spoken – A Governor’s Forum on Housing. Featuring the first public release of new statewide polling on housing, policy, and how to address Maine’s housing affordability.
Maine Voters Have Spoken: A Governor’s Forum on Housing brings together Maine gubernatorial candidates Hannah Pingree and Rick Bennett for a timely, solutions-focused conversation on one of the defining issues facing our state. All candidates were invited to participate. The forum will begin with the first public release of new statewide polling commissioned by the Maine Affordable Housing Coalition, offering fresh insight into how Maine voters view the housing crisis, the policies they support, and what they expect from the state’s next Governor. Moderated by Chris Costa at NEWS CENTER Maine.
Following the presentation of the polling results, the candidates will discuss their vision for addressing Maine’s housing shortage, improving affordability, supporting communities, and ensuring that Maine families, workers, older adults, and future generations have access to safe, affordable homes. The discussion will explore how the next Governor can work with communities, the Legislature, and the private and nonprofit sectors to expand housing opportunities and strengthen Maine’s economy.
